Evelo Biosciences seeking a highly-motivated part-time Contract Senior Recruiter with significant biotechnology talent acquisition experience.

Evelo Biosciences is pioneering the development of therapies designed to act on the gut-body network – monoclonal microbials. Monoclonal microbials use naturally evolved pharmacology to work in the gut for effects throughout the body and comprise an entirely new class of potentially effective, convenient and safe medicines to address the unmet needs of huge numbers of patients with serious diseases. We are seeking a talented and dedicated Contract Senior Recruiter who is interested in joining a highly dynamic and intellectually challenging team of drug discoverers and developers. 

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Senior Recruiter will collaborate closely with members of the Evelo HR Team and hiring managers in our recruiting efforts to drive to the next stage of growth as we continue to build our organization with top tier talent. The qualified candidate will handle the development and delivery of full-cycle effective sourcing and talent acquisition campaigns in support of Evelo’s workforce plans.  This role will manage requisitions including building our employment brand in our communities, sourcing, screening, and collaborating with hiring managers while delivering an optimal candidate experience. Primary responsibilities:


Primary responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute innovative sourcing and recruiting strategies in support of talent acquisition goals.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand business needs and develop a sourcing/recruitment strategy to attract top talent and to meet hiring deadlines, through pre-interview meetings and post-interview debriefs
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on sourcing resources, new and creative recruiting techniques, labor market and industry trends, and competitor information to ensure our sourcing efforts and recruiting practices are successful, cost‐effective, and competitive.
  • Develop a talent pipeline for immediate hire and upcoming positions as staffing needs dictate.
  • Interview candidates to qualify them in relation to position requirements, as well as provide candidates with detailed information on our company, compensation package, business strategies, position details, and expectations.
  • Consult and influence selection decisions ensuring a qualified, diverse pipeline 
  • Ensure an optimal candidate experience while facilitating the interview process and assessment of talent
  • Prepare candidate offer packages, negotiate and extend job offers


Desired capabilities and skills:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Minimum 8+ years of full life-cycle recruiting experience in in biotech/pharma is required with experience supporting Research & Development, Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, Regulatory Affairs and Manufacturing preferred.
  • Extensive experience in high-growth/fast paced bio-tech environment.
  • Ability to influence/coach hiring managers and leaders on recruiting process 
    and talent decisions 
  • Demonstrated success in deploying advanced web-based search and networking strategies 
  • Ability to influence/coach hiring managers and leaders on recruiting process

  • High degree of initiative; must be able to work independently and be a self‐starter as well as a strong team-player.
  • Possess strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills coupled with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
